Breast Cancer Care Become Eco-Safe Drivers

BCC LogoSheffield-based Breast Cancer Care team, have been helping to support the environment as well as the community after completing the Eco-Business Driving scheme provided by Inmotion!

The team use their own cars to drive around the county offering support and information for many people affected by breast cancer, helping them through difficult times and beyond their illness.

Emma Maillard - Centre Administrator, said: “When I heard about Inmotion!, I thought Eco-Business Driving would be ideal for our staff as we are keen to support their wellbeing. The scheme will help to ensure they are driving safely, as efficiently as possible and it also helps save them money on fuel and maintenance costs”.

The free Eco-Business Driving scheme provides expert advice and guidance to help businesses comply with current Health and Safety legislation, whilst encouraging their employees to drive in a more efficient way. This can help to reduce exhaust emissions, drive down fuel costs whilst increasing driver safety and comfort.

The course involves a two hour in car practical session with a fully trained instructor, then a one hour classroom based debrief to discuss what’s been learnt and share experiences.

BCC - Emma and LisaEmma said: “It was simple and hassle free to put in place. It’s helped us to improve our policies and procedures, and given us reassurance that our colleagues are safe when they are out and about on the roads. I would recommend the Eco-Business Driving scheme to other companies. It’s a win/win situation – the scheme is free to your business and your staff do benefit.”
